The fun, casual, yapping art bio:
I've always been a creative person, so it's no surprise that I've recently—as of late 2024—picked up digital art and virtual photography. Actually, scratch that. I'm quite surprised that I've taken up learning portraiture in both digital art and virtual photography.I used to be a real-world photographer, mainly focusing on landscapes (and other nature themes). In university, if I wasn't sculpting, I was practicing charcoal still-life drawing. None of my work ever included people because I found the human form intimidating (honestly, it still is).But then Baldur's Gate 3 happened. Yep, I'm learning portraiture just because I want to draw and photograph my fictional crushes. It's honestly not that crazy of a thing to do, but it does make me feel delusional sometimes. I'm Gale fueled lolI've tossed all my sculpting skills aside (just kidding! I need that skill for work) so I can focus almost all of my free time on learning how to draw/paint, and how use programs for virtual photography. I'm hoping to turn this creative side project of mine into something more, because I truly do love being an artist. It's a large part of who I am, even though my imposter syndrome says otherwise. All in all, I'm thankful for Baldur's Gate 3 for getting me out of my 3 year artist block/burn out. I graduated in 2019 as the pandemic was developing, so my graduating class's BFA exhibition was postponed for a couple years (sadly, the online exhibition didn't quite do my sculptures justice). It was a real bummer, and I didn't quite recover from all that chaos, until... well, 2024.Anyway, if you've read this far, thank you for your interest in me. I do appreciate you and it'd be a pleasure to have you beside me on this new creative journey!
